Whoever has enjoyed the intimate charm of reading a book together sitting on Mommy's lap knows what inspired this painting! The Artist heightened the emotional effect by placing the two figures in a rhapsodic garden and giving the pastel book a delicate, somewhat mysterious title that takes a close-up look to savor: It's "Peter Pan"! If you look closely at the Mother's lips, you might even see her beginnng to say the "P" in "Peter"....
